Failed to open directory “sf_name”.
Error opening directory ‘/media/sf_name’: Permission denied.

I am having trouble accessing the shared folder.
I am using the latest version of Ubuntu 25.04 as my main OS.

VirtualBox version: 7.0.20
Whonix-Xfce-17.3.9.9.Intel_AMD64 version.

I don’t fully understand the logic behind splitting the workstation into two: one for regular use and one for updates.

How did you produce that error? What commad did you run? Where did you see that error?

The system reports that I do not have permission/access to use the shared folder. That is, the shared folder named sf_name is present in both Whonix and Ubuntu systems, and it is visible in VirtualBox, but Whonix reports an error stating that I do not have access to use it.

Please don’t rephrase error messages.

Provide steps how to reproduce the issue and copy/paste error messages.

Otherwise there’s not even a chance to help as I have no idea what’s happening.
