The title says it all but if I would use Socat to port forward things on my Whonix Workstation, would that do any harm or what are your thought on this? It would be much appreciated, thanks! and does it even work together? 
Whonix uses socat as part of anon-ws-disable-stacked-tor.
Look into anon-ws-disable-stacked-tor/etc/anon-ws-disable-stacked-tor.d at master · Whonix/anon-ws-disable-stacked-tor · GitHub if pre-configured listeners do not suffice.
