Why not just use a normal (tor-agnostic) browser in Whonix Workstation?

Hi,

I was wondering why one wouldn’t simply use a normal browser in Whonix Workstation, as – if I understand correctly – everything without exception is passed through Whonix Gateway, which in turn fully torifies any traffic?

So even if I use unsafe browser settings (javascript, flash etc), and this browser is compromised, my real IP will not be leaked as no package goes out except through the tor gateway.

Is this true, or am I missing something?

Thanks for your help!

Good day,
