Why Debian contrib included

Why is Debian contrib included in Whonix sources? What from contrib is installed in Whonix by default? Is not all of Whonix fully free software?

IIRC, contrib was needed for virtualbox guest additions: virtualbox-guest-x11

Can someone confirm this? Is this the only reason? Can this package be uninstalled if not using Virtualbox and the repository removed?

Yes.

If you remove contrib from sources doesn’t that create an apt-get fingerprint different from all other Whonix users? So rather not remove anything?

I would consider use of apt-get always pseudonymous rather than
anonymous anyhow. Once you divert from default package selection or
upgrade sooner/later than “everyone else” (which probably doesn’t exist)
it’s pseudonymous anyhow.
