I run system upgrade and for whonix gateway it took awhile, but for whonix workstation it took more than one hour while stuck on ‘unpacking linux headers’. This is ridiculous. And my pc is with good specifications.
Try to give your VM More RAM, same thing happened to me and it fixed the problem.
