Download speed issues have been reported by a few users even when downloading over clearnet.
Therefore I wrote a script:

And run it from a different server with a fast connection. (The Kicksecure server.)
Another server downloads a bit from whonix.org and other Whonix download mirrors for comparison.
Review of the dm-check-mirrors script is welcome.
