Whonix Setup Wizard Feedback Required!

[html]

troubadour has created Whonix Setup Wizard, that will replace the terminal whonixsetup when running a graphical Whonix-Gateway or Whonix-Workstation. We need your feedback on whether our approach seems usable. Please leave feedback in the forums. Link to forum discussion:

At first boot, before starting KDE (if using KDE), “whonix-setup-wizard locale_settings” will be started. You will only see this little window and the rest will be black, because at this time no desktop is load yet. Mouse and keyboard will be available.

nice!

For the disclaimer it would look more presentable if you put all the English together and the German translation together as a separate paragraphs.

It sounds more professional if you change: “there are many ways in which it fails” to “there are still shortcomings”

Would it be hard to give an option for torrc edits via kdesudo kwrite in connection wizard? It would be on the first or second page.

Unfortunately, not an option as long as I redistribute it as per https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Dev/Disclaimer.

Dunno if it’s worth the effort. for Whonix 11 we hopefully get ‘make TBB usable as “system Tor”’ (https://phabricator.whonix.org/T118) implemented, which is better than reinventing a Tor configuration graphical user interface.
