After testing the Kicksecure 16 series, so far a couple of points:

  • We should set a different wallpaper for KS because it is trivial to mistake it with Whonix
  • Chromium is still the default and firefox needs to be installed. Have I added them to the wrong dependency package or were these changes reverted?

That should already be the case. KS looks similar to what?

Similar to Whonix WS and GW. They all have the same wallpaper.

KVM specific bug most likely. This was fixed in Whonix 16.0.3.1 - for VirtualBox - Point Release! for sure.

GW, WS and KS are all using different background colors in Whonix VirtualBox. Some hints to fix written just now:
