Whonix Gateway upgrade-nonroot issues

After I ran upgrade-noonroot I noticed the warning /etc/resolv.conf is not linked with whonix resolv.conf althought nameserver is set to 10.0.2.3.

I also noticed that the only one line in GRUB like “Whonix Persistent | Live mode” is listed.

Was my Gateway upgrade broken or everything was OK? Is DNS traffic passing through Tor also?

It helps to read release announcements.

Do you notice anything broken?

Let me google that for you.

I’ve checked my traffic through Wireshark, I haven’t seen any leaks yet.

Thanks. I’m also curious why what does the message “INFO: user-sysmaint-split: Absent” mean when I run systemcheck on Whonix-Gateway? It’s a kind of new feature in Whonix which I’ve never seen before. Am I safe?

INFO: Am I hacked? Yes

It’s not exactly saying that.

You failed to read the release announcement and wiki. This is trivial to find.

1 issue = 1 forum thread please.

  • CLI: There will be a link below it.

  • GUI: There will be a clickable link.
    • (It’s actually cannot but opened on Whonix-Gateway but you can see the link by right click → copy link location. Link is also shown and clickable in Whonix-Workstation’s systemcheck.)
