Whonix can't extract files rar

Why when I try to extract files from a .rar archive they all have 0kb? Is there any alternative program to handle rar files?

Not Whonix-specific, but you can use 7z instead of lxqt-archiver.

the thread you posted describes unpacking using the console, and I wanted to use the GUI version of the program, preferably adding a keyboard shortcut for unpacking after right-clicking

If 7zip doesn’t have a GUI version, maybe there’s an alternative?

This forum is not intended for getting help with how to use Linux in general. Other sites (like the Stack Exchange Q&A sites “Super User” and “Unix & Linux”) are more suitable for that.

There are many archiver frontends available for Linux that may be able to handle RAR files. Which one you should use (if any) is up to you. See also:
