Whonix 16 - Wrong/ old apt sources?

Hey guys,

I’m still running whonix 16 inside of Qubes OS (Distro upgrade recommended or still up-to-date?) And I have trouble doing an update as I’m getting the following error:

E: Failed to fetch ftp.debian. org/debian/dists/stretch-backports/main/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found [IP: 127.0.0.1 8082]
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

My source looks like this:

Folder:
user@host:/etc/apt/sources.list.d$ ls
debian.list qubes-r4.list stretch-backports.list

stretch-backports.list
deb [trusted=yes] ftp.debian .org/debian stretch-backports main

How do I fix this, what to change to have the most recent version of my installed software like monero gui?

Outdated.

Heavily outdated. Delete that file.

Is my best bet to reinstall qubes os + whonix so I get whonix 17?
Or is whonix 17 supported in qubes 4.1 and I can do a template install?
