Hey, I was just wondering if anyone could give us an approximation of when the Whonix Qubes team will be finished on a Whonix 10 & Qubes 3.0 release (along with an update to the official guidelines for installation)?

Soon. Whonix 10 on Qubes 3 is complete and in testing phase.
If you are really impatient, you could attempt to build it from my repos, although I do suggest waiting.
You could also upgrade R2 Whonix templates to R3 and that would work as well. [url=https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/UpgradeToR3.0rc1/]https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/UpgradeToR3.0rc1/[/url] and is best done in R2 since there are additional steps to unblock firewall that I have not documented anywhere in order to be able to gain network access to be able to update.
If you end up playing around updating, be sure to either update to Whonix10 first or remove /etc/apt/sources.list.d/whonix and do an apt-get update since updating Whonix at this point with out following the upgrade instructions [url=https://phabricator.whonix.org/T288]Login will break Whonix and require further steps to get it working again.
