VB (5.1.22 mac) drag and drop file doesn't work

Description

VB drag and drop doesn’t work in either direction. Host to VM allows the mouse to move into dolphin, but nothing is copied. Dragging from VM to Host either never seems to recognize moving outside the screen or pops open a “dropping” dialog that never finishes. More attempts results in system freezing.

That last lined in spammed hundreds of times (while I held the mouse over dolphin, I presume).

The guide goes on to ask for the log in the guest. It wants me to modify the logging by changing the file /usr/bin/VBoxClient-all, but this doesn’t exist. Neither does /tmp/VBoxClient.log

Is Whonix blocking VB from writing to '\var\folders'?

No idea.

I can create a bug report
(Bugtracker – Oracle VM VirtualBox), but maybe @Patrick has
some insight (or knows where the guest log file is). If I post a bug
now they may believe it’s whonix specific.

You need to reproduce the same issue on Debian stretch. Otherwise they
can always say it’s Whonix specific.

• reproduce on Debian buster
• report this to Debian and/or VirtualBox
