Using Whonix 17 App qubes on Whonix 18?

Is there a way to use Whonix Workstation 17 app qubes with whonix 18 template without silencing ConnectCheck error with this command:
sudo systemctl mask sdwdate-gui-qubes-proxy-helper.service ??

Just a side question, most probably that will aso be a duplicate.

But can we in-place upgrade whonix-17 to whonix-18 in Qubes?

What extra steps are required?

I did it but it was not the same as the new whonix-18 templates.
