Some applications can be proxied over Tor or have Tor build in. Now, as far as I understand it Tor will not allow a Tor circuit to be build over itself.
I have however enabled the build-in tor in wasabi and it runs just fine. In the case of Electrum I have also enabled the proxy over Tor, despite the fact that Tor is not installed in Workstation.
Are these programs specifically modified by the whonix developers so that they recognize they are running in whonix?
