Tor Browser doesn't start after updates

Hi dear anon people!

I hope you are all doing well despite the pandemic.

I’m Whonix user since a year, find it better as Tails on USB stick.

But after latest updates the Tor Browser wont start, because input/output errors occurred.

I hope to solve the issue with an reinstall from Tor Browser, but same issue.

Does this problem have anything to do with the fact that the tb-updater package has been updated?

Because after clean install i updated first the browser before applying global updates. After restarting the browser same issue

After updates i see that SW Date doesn’t work too on both!

Could someone enlighten me because I’m confused at this time.

I’m running under 15.0.0.9.4

Here the error output:

###############################################################################
## msgdispatcher script bug.
## No panic. Nothing is broken. Just some rare condition has been hit.
## Try again later. There is likely a solution for this problem.
## Please see Whonix News, Whonix Blog and Whonix User Help Forum.

After searching i found my issue

Don’t add user as root in sudoers file like this:

User privilege specification

root ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL

Allow members of group sudo to execute any command

%sudo ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL

See sudoers(5) for more information on “#include” directives:

#includedir /etc/sudoers.d
user ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL #dont add this!!

Just let the file in original configuration.

Hope this can helping the community :stuck_out_tongue:

Try start Tor Browser in debugging mode

Tor Browser Essentials

Unlikely.
