Ssh tools not rendering special characters

Server tools ran from ssh do not render special characters. Used to work. Example: tmux not rendering special characters. tmux -u render successful.

Very likely related. ssh.anondist probably needs an LC_ALL preservation mechanism similar to the one currently implemented for dnf-3. Maybe all of the uwt tools should, since end-users are likely not going to expect a tool to be forced to the C locale if they set or use a different locale. (LC_ALL=C is needed in uwtwrapper internally, but probably not for the program being launched.)

echo $LC_ALL prints C. In unmodified new tab terminal. Do not know if this was changed somewhere either. Do not know if uwt preserving it will fix, because of this. It is already C. Never set locale on my Whonix. Maybe it is a default changed with the other commits.

Can reproduce here on both Whonix-Gateway and Whonix-Workstation on VirtualBox with trixie-developers repos. Cannot reproduce on Qubes-Whonix-Workstation with trixie-developers repos. Will investigate.

EDIT: Found, LC_ALL=C is being set in /usr/libexec/desktop-config-dist/start-lxqt-session and the original is not being preserved. Will fix. Note that this likely won’t fix SSH itself though.

Combined will fix ssh render issue?

Fixing the sessions having LC_ALL=C set, and also fixing uwt, should fix the issue. The sessions I know can be fixed in a straightforward way, uwt needs some discussion internally to determine the right way to fix it.
