Sources list could not be read

Hello,

Getting an error message regarding sources list:

E: Conflicting values set for option Signed-By regarding source tor+https://deb.whonix.org/ bullseye: /usr/share/keyrings/derivative.asc !=
E: The list of sources could not be read

where are the conflicting values?

file /etc/apt/sources.list or folder /etc/apt/sources.list.d

Instructions for adding the repository aren’t difficult. It’s just copy and paste.

Do you know how to use copy and paste?

If not, you very much need to master that skill first. Otherwise wrong commands are copied and then lots of follow-up issues will happen.

I don’t recommend typing commands by hand. Use copy/paste.

I know how to copy & paste. I just don’t remember what repo this is or why it was added in the first place.
I just want to remove it if it isn’t necessary. The only thing I was interested in doing was following this
guide → Whonix ™ Packages for Debian Hosts and Whonix ™ Host Enhancements; but I seem to have confused things.

Here is the output of the files you mentioned:

/etc/apt/sources.list: (empty file)

/etc/apt/sources.list.d:

debian.list debian.list.dpkg-old derivative.list qubes-r4.list whonix.list

the output of cat whonix.list is:

deb https://deb.whonix.org bullseye main contrib non-free
