Setting Up a TOR Hidden Service on Whonix WS (mysql missing)

Hi everyone,

I am a little bit surprised, nobody talked about the missing mysql package in Whonix…
Tried to install it, but it returns:

sudo apt install mysql-server
Reading package lists… Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information… Done
Package mysql-server is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package ‘mysql-server’ has no installation candidate

I guess that setting up a TOR Hidden Service on Whonix could be great to improve security and avoid de-anonymization to success.

What do you think?

Any tips to install mysql-server? Any advice about setting up TOR Hidden Service in Whonix?

Ok, I think I found a solution…

sudo apt install mariadb-server php-mysql -y

Anyway… Any reaction to this idea?

Please check first if any wanted package is available in Debian:

Debian -- Package Search Results -- mysql-server

More specifically in the Debian release which Whonix is based on.
