I noticed that new version of tor-control-panel had the “Request new Tor circuit” button instead of “New Identity”. When I pressed on this button, Tor service was restarted. Is it the same as “Restart Tor” or not?
It’s not exactly the same. The “Request new Tor circuit” button also sends a NEWNYM command to Tor so that future connections may go through different circuits.
