Hi, since my l last update I cannot use Firefox or Chromium.
TOR Browser works fine, and there is also internet connection in my terminal, I can wget, apt update etc…
I looked at the proxy settings in Firefox browser, nothing special here.
Any idea?
“cannot” is the worst possible error description. What is exactly happening? Any error messages?
"Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.
We can’t connect to the server at www.wikipedia.org.
If you entered the right address, you can:
Try again later
Check your network connection
Check that Firefox has permission to access the web (you might be connected but behind a firewall)"
And on Chrome it is the same kind:
" No internet
Try:
- Checking the network cables, modem, and router
- Reconnecting to Wi-Fi
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET"
I tried to install Lokinet, maybe that’s the reason?
I noticed a process running with something like /var/lib/system/proxyd so I killed it, then I removed the Lokinet package, restarted the workstation, but the issue is still here
Could be. Who knows.
Use a new workstation. Test it. Then install lokinet to figure out if that breaks things.
There is no way to identify what is blocking http queries?
No, there isn’t. Documented just now:
Network Troubleshooting, Introduction
It is weird that only web browsers are affected.
Other application using internet connection work fine.
