Does the latest Qubes download contain whonix 14 or do we still need to manually upgrade? I’m asking because i already have a old Qubes 4.0 download and i am going to setup a new laptop device with Qubes.
mostly no , so dont install whonix from dvd/usb of Qubes. instead install Qubes then install Whonix from dom0
If you are not using Whonix yet but want to, best to get the point release.
Uninstall and install or reinstall.

But I think Qubes 4.0 rc2 includes Whonix 14.

Avoid the Qubes 4.0 images, they are 6 months old.

That’s what I meant too, but I think Patrick is saying although it’s
version 14, it’s not the very latest point release of the templates.

Correct. Doesn’t include Qubes-Whonix 14 (4.0.1-201811291216) Point Release for Qubes R4.

I misunderstood, sorry. Anyway, I think he can just install the 4.0.1rc2 image and then update the rest of the way.
