Please help me

this is what i want to do and what i hear whonix can do but i am having trouble figuring out how because of how whonix works. whonix gateway is OS and whonix workstation (can be any OS) runs inside it and is safe on tor. now i see whonix is for virtualbox and both need to be ran seperate in virtualbox and linked together so workstation uses gateways internet? gateway isnt virtualising workstartion, another os running virtualbox is?
i want to have a computer with no OS installed and have whonix gateway on a USB and debian as my workstation instead of whonix workstation. i want to boot whonix gateway from the usb and use debian for my os but what virtualises debian? also the files on the website are for virtualbox. how do i do this? if whonix isnt running in virtualbox and it is running on the computer do all the features remain the same that are listen on the whonix vs tails wiki info page? are mac address and hwids still hidden, etc? please help.

Physical Isolation with bare metal Gateway
it says this is more secure than the normal download can you explain how this would work just like what i would install where and does this one protect hwid and mac address, etc?

Collects (virtual) hardware serials No Depends on the custom operating system
this if i am using debian for workstation will collect hardware serials? what is this anyway? does it connect to my actual hardware and will it be the same serial every time i turn on computer? would it change if os was re installed and are they unique?

Secure Distributed Network Time Synchronization Yes Your responsibility to install it.
what is this and why is it important

Privacy enhanced IRC client configuration.
why do you need this if the whole os is using tor? what does whonix workstation do?

also wondering about stream isolation, does this mean if i have one program open it will have a different tor route than another program i have open? whonix workstation does this and not debian? Your responsibility to use Stream Isolation. where do i add it?

thanks sorry so many question

It's all here: https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Dev/Build_Documentation/Physical_Isolation Not simple, though. Advanced users only.

When using https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Dev/Build_Documentation/Physical_Isolation/9#Install_Whonix-Workstation_in_a_VM_.28RECOMMENDED.29 - yes.
this if i am using debian for workstation will collect hardware serials?
No.

Yes.

Mostly unique.
Secure Distributed Network Time Synchronization Yes Your responsibility to install it. what is this and why is it important
See: https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Dev/TimeSync
Privacy enhanced IRC client configuration. why do you need this if the whole os is using tor?
Preventing protocol leaks: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/TorifyHOWTO#Protocolleaks
what does whonix workstation do?
In very short: pre-configure some applications to prevent protocol leaks.
also wondering about stream isolation, does this mean if i have one program open it will have a different tor route than another program i have open?
Kinda. See also: https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Stream_Isolation
whonix workstation does this and not debian?
Whonix-Workstation is currently based on Debian. Whonix is a derivative of Debian. It add custom confligs and stuff for these purposes. See also: https://www.whonix.org/wiki/About#Based_on_Debian

hi, first of all note the whonix must be in one virtualbox , you cant have one guest in one virtualbox and the other in other virtualbox , and you cant have to two virtualbox installed on same host , for usability reasons (performance) need usb 3 supported by motherboard and a usb 3 flash with at least 200 mb/s read/write ,it is bad idea to have a operating system on a usb2 devive because usb2 have max 35 mb/s read /write speeds , and that will decrease the performance of system dramaticaly. so that usb 3 flash must have and at least 16 gb capacity if one of the two guest of whonix will be there and if that will be linux , because windows need more space . after all you must have a cpu with vt-x suport and motherboard with that again , otherwise you will run very slowly whonix beliave me , if you have not that (vt-x) you can use tails with persistance on usb , that support to obfs3 bridges and have stream isolation , its the right after whonix , but us i tell you , if you have not vt-x its better to use tails persistance , for performance reasons .

As running operating systems on USB, I personally never run them from flash drives due to performance limitations and max write cycles. Preferring USB HDD or maybe in future USB SSD.

thats trouth , So if you connect a hdd or ssd in external conection mode (via usb) , must the motherboard support usb 3 & the external box for drive must support usb 3 otherwise the speed will be usb2 (35 mb/s read/write max ) .
works to but having a operating system there that will run slowly & if run iside virtualmachine will run more slowly .
as i allready test that personaly .
