Description

All ncurses based dialogs are broken in consoles (such as tty0) as of Whonix 10 - 10.0.0.5.4-developers-only.

Whonix 9 vs Whonix 10 locale settings are the same.

By setting an environment variable this can be worked around.
TERM=vt1000 dialog --msgbox test 640 480
TERM=xterm dialog --msgbox test 640 480
But hard setting an environment variable is a crude solution.

Removal of the console-setup console-setup-linux packages fixes this.

Related changelog entries:
– anon-meta-packages: added console-setup to anon-shared-packages-dependencies so users can use /etc/default/keyboard as alternative mechanism to change the keyboard layout
– anon-meta-packages: added console-data to anon-shared-packages-dependencies to make sure all three packages console-setup, console-data and console-common are installed.
