Make /tmp use my qube's disk storage instead of using ram (tmpfs)

I need some help getting my /tmp directory to use my qube’s private storage rather than ram, since it needs more space for SimpleX to function properly. I have up to 100 gigabytes set aside for this. I’ve been attempting to get it setup to do this, trying to use commands for editing the rc.local file, and have also tried letting it use more ram, but I just haven’t had any success in getting the desired results. All this is kind of outside of my knowledge, so I’m sorry but you might have to hold my hand a bit for this if you choose to help.

For more information about the specifics of my problem, go to SimpleX’s Github page and go to closed issues and you’ll see my issue there, it’s called “[Bug]: No space left on device error (even though there is space)”, I would link to it but it wouldn’t allow me on here.

Not exactly the answer you asked for, but easier:

/tmp has an in-RAM filesystem mounted to it by the systemd unit tmp.mount. You might be able to open the TemplateVM corresponding to your Simplex VM, then run sudo systemctl mask tmp.mount. That will leave /tmp as part of /. If you need more space after that, increase the “System storage max size” in the template.

Harder:

If you want some other filesystem or directory on /tmp, you can configure it in /etc/fstab. (Leaving it on / might be the best option though, since most of / gets reset when an AppVM shuts down. Everything in /tmp should disappear on shutdown, so that gives you the intended behavior “for free”.)
