Interesting discussion. Can we get the pros and cons of LXQt for posterity? Or a link to a post where you already broke it down.
Since LXQt is supporting Wayland, I think it makes sense as a viable candidate for Whonix
Reasoning:
- Lightweight, which is good for VMs and resources
- Pretty nice UI/UX, modular, customizable, responsivr
- Smaller attack surface than KDE and other larger desktops
- Actively being developed

Will LXQt 2.0 be full ready for Wayland?
Not yet, wayland will be the main target for LXQt 2.1 in autumn as Qt6 was the target for LXQt 2.0.
