Lower Screen Resolution?

Hi ^^

I’m running Whonix 9 in VirtualBox 4.3.16 on OSX 10.7, trying to make the default Workstation screen size smaller. My OSX resolution is 1440x900 and the default Whonix windows are just a bit too big.

I followed the wiki guide trying to set the display smaller (1024x600) but it made the VirtualBox window even bigger and all the fonts in Whonix 9 barely readable (even if I try resizing via KDE display setting to 800x600 they are still tiny!).

I tried 1024x768 in the 00-virtualbox-monitor.conf file and it’s still too big, so deleted the file.

I also tried this in Terminal but hasn’t changed anything even after restarting VirtualBox.

vboxmanage setextradata "Whonix-Workstation" "CustomVideoMode1" "1024x600x32"

Maybe https://www.whonix.org/wiki/VirtualBox_Guest_Additions but that comes with cons.

Also this isn’t a question specific to Whonix. Same would happen with Debian + VirtualBox as per Whonix ™ - Anonymous Operating System - which should give you access to a much bigger community.

Or perhaps using Whonix with KVM or Qubes might help. Dunno.

Sorry, that I don’t have a better answer than that at this time.

Hi Patrick! Thank you. I will try the Debian forums!
