Some old chat comments of mine are cited at Metadata - Whonix and Metadata - Whonix . At the time of the chat, I said I would try to dig up sources for the claims I made. I’ve finally done so (took some hours; search engines are truly dreadful at reconstructing my browsing history from when I read these docs at the time):

Sources for claims on WikiLeaks DNC FAT32 metadata:

Sources for claims on Guccifer2 time zone metadata:

Sources for claims on re-saving files introducing new metadata:

I’ll add these citations to the wiki when I have a few minutes (probably in the next week) unless someone either beats me to it or objects.

Style enhancements, simplified download table:

new wiki page:

Whonix homepage, that term is defined as whonix.org, no /wiki is in process of being ported to Whonix wiki format.

Work in progress:
https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Homepage

(Once done it will be just whonix.org. No /wiki/Homepage)

And of course it is supposed to look better than what exists right now. Page header and footer will have a consistent design homepage versus wiki.

The wiki markup source code (HTML / CSS) can be found here:

This will later be documented on:

Somehow got two pages.

Needs to be merged. I hope I can keep all improvements and nothing will be reverted to the previously less ideal state. But in that case, see above direct links which will still have the full wiki history.

Above was done.

Wrote wiki template documentation, added machine readable link to Whonix onion:

Reverted and added here instead:

Lots of Whonix wiki pages now redirect to the Kicksecure wiki. The Whonix wiki layout has been prettified over the last few months. The Kicksecure layout still doesn’t look so great. But that issue will be fixed in the near future. All Whonix wiki improvements will be copied over to the Kicksecure wiki. That’s quite doable since the layout is modular. On top of that, Kicksecure will get its own distinct style to further make sure that Whonix cannot be confused for Kicksecure and vice versa.

Done. Whonix homepage is now wiki based as well as the style has been improved.
