Oh dam!!! I had no idea Ubuntu was such a privacy nightmare, they were even collecting your searches that you entered on the dash? Those bastards!!! And even Linux Mint isn’t safe huh? Dam. That’s an eye opener. So what distro should I use? It needs to be user friendly. So besides Mint and Ubuntu, what’s the third most widely used distro?

You need to come over to Linux for maximum security. Ubuntu or Mint is good for Linux beginners. I chose Ubuntu myself. Ubuntu is the most widely used Linux distribution with a huge support community.

It seems the best alternative to windows is qubes os (snowden uses it). Whonix doesn’t have all the security features in qubes? Windows is watching me, but whonix have all the features, but in qubes I won’t have live mode?

I think Qubes is ideal for enterprises and companies - it’s important to keep detailed logs and restore data in case of a failure or breach. Kicksecure is better and simpler for regular users and activists - it offers high protection against hacking and forensics. You can run the entire system in live mode along with Whonix or easily create disposable templates for live Whonix (cloning a workstation VM). In any case, it’s better to avoid Windows. If Windows is needed, it’s better to run it on a VM
