Hi newbie here downloaded Kicksecure and installed on usb successfully but when I run the whonix installer it says not enough storage , I am using a 16gb usb . It says only 3gb available is there a way to change this .
You need more storage space.
Hi what size of usb is required ?
Unknown. Testing to fit into the smallest possible size isn’t done.
128 GB disk space is plenty.
64 GB disk space will most likely br sufficient.
32 GB disk space might be sufficient.
Thanks
I am getting this error and I am using a 512gb usb stick .[quote=“Patrick, post:4, topic:21704, full:true”]

I keep getting an error saying there’s only 3gb available and 5gb is required and I have used a 512gb usb stick .
Maybe installation issue. Didn’t select all space during installation. Check partition layout with a tool such as gparted.
Screenshot not readable. Maybe just
sudo fdisk -l
Please provide installer debug log. It’s mentioned in installer output.
No photo required. Just console ouput would have sufficed.
Partitioning doesn’t look like Kicksecure (or any Linux distribution) has been installed using the full disk space. It still shows Windows.
How did you install Kicksecure? Did you even install or only flash to USB? Follow this:
Did you follow Kicksecure USB installation documentation or use a third-party tool such as ventoy? Unsupported. We cannot provide help with that.
Hi I used balenecher and flashed the usb then booted the laptop from the usb as described, have I missed a step as it boots into Kicksecure. I tried deleting the usb and reformatting but I still get the same result . Thanks for all your help so far , sorry if I am being a pain !!!
Insufficient. That only creates a non-persistent live ISO.
You need to install to a hard drive. Can be internal harddrive or another USB drive for example.
You cannot use ISO Live Mode unless you have a ton of RAM.
Persistent installation is what most users do.
Please follow the steps mentioned in documentation.
If you don’t understand a step, please ask. Skip a step = cause issues later.
Thanks I will try again later .
Kicksecure installation issues are off-topic here.
Please post in https://forums.kicksecure.com/
- include installation log
- make sure to choose “erase disk” - if that is OK in your case - as per screenshot that can be found in documentation - File:ISO-calamares-partition.png - Kicksecure
