Installing Nheko to latest version

I’m sure i’m showing off my linux newbieness but I’m following the instructions listed in the Whonix wiki to install the Matrix client Nheko, and to the best of my ability it’s only downloading ver 0.8.0+really0.7.2-4, when the latest stable version is 0.12.0 according to the Nheko github. This is especially a problem because the version it installs is apparently several years old at this point and straight up crashes when contacting the modern matrix network.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong, or what I can do to install the latest version under Whonix?

This isnt a whonix specific question. Search for your problem but with “debian” instead of whonix. Whonix is based on debian. Ask for help from Nheko community if you cant find an answer

But maybe try sudo apt update then try to upgrade sudo apt upgrade
