Really don’t understand the obsession with Windows XP. Are you still using a Pentium 4 cpu?

You can’t on Windows XP.

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_xp:

Extended support for Windows XP ended on April 8, 2014, after which the operating system ceased receiving further support or security updates to most users.

As the end of extended support approached, Microsoft began to increasingly urge XP customers to migrate to newer versions such as Windows 7 or 8 in the interest of security, suggesting that attackers could reverse engineer security patches for newer versions of Windows and use them to target equivalent vulnerabilities in XP.[124][125][126]

Windows XP is remotely exploitable by numerous security holes that were discovered after Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP.[148][149][150]

You can’t expect to get support for a vulnerable OS from a forum dedicated to protecting privacy. (Anonymity and security are highly related.)

  • Use a supported version of Windows.
  • Follow this guide: Anonymize Other Operating Systems
  • Windows does not need to be nested inside Whonix-Workstation. All traffic is torrified by Whonix-Gateway.

Good day,

That is hard to tell for us either, as this problem is in no way connected to Whonix. Maybe your source file/disk is corrupted…

Yeah it is far safer and actually more efficient in regards to the way it uses the hardware available, as far as my experience goes.

I found the reason .

This is it .

I’ve learned Windows XP can’t boot from SATA CD/DVD drive .
Windows XP can boot from IDE drive .
My PC has IDE DVD/CD drive .
I’ve installed 1st HOST Windows XP to this PC by using the IDE drive .
But , virtual box cant use IDE drive …It looks SATA drive only OK …

I thought using virtual disc ISO on whonix to install XP …
If the way can’t do the thing , Then I’ll try Windows 7 …

If using SATA drive to install Windows XP ,
The installation hangs up …

Virtual box can’t use IDE drive , I looked so .
So , I used SATA drive .
That was the reason …

I’ve learned the reason …

I’ve noticed virtualbox can use IDE drive .
And used it to install XP .
But , the result was same …

Setup is starting Windows

After this message , XP installation hangs up …

And , I tried Windows 7 ,
But , the result was same …

Starting Windows …

After this message , 7 installation also hangs up …
I’ve waited for 10 hours , but didn’t start installation …

I’ve done everything , Then I thought , this is the virtual box’s problem .
I’ll ask virtualbox support or forum …

Thanks everyone on this board …
I appreciate you …
