How to use Freenode IRC from Whonix Workstation?

Is it possible at all? Is there a HOWTO in the wiki?

I mean the full scenario from anonymously registering an user over Tor then connecting to Freenode IRC over tor as well.

As far as I know, nick registration requires a one-time clearnet connection to freenode.

Subsequent connections can be done through tor via the matrix/freenode bridge (you <–tor–> riot.im/app <–> freenode ).

Yes. Not easy. You somehow need an extra tunnel ( Combining Tunnels with Tor ) ( User -> Tor -> proxy/VPN/SSH -> Internet) for registration.

Actually, it should be possible to register a freenode nick by opening a matrix chat with @freenode_NickServ:matrix.org. So no clearnet connection would be needed.
