How to switch keyboard layout in the new LXQT version?

Hello everyone! This is my first post. I’m disoriented.

Just can not find out how to set up keyboard layouts in the new LXQT version. Can not add the widget “Keyboard State Indicator“. Probably because it’s X11 only. I can not open “Shortcuts Keys“ from Configuration Center. Unsupported under Wayland. I added layouts using “Keyboard Layout“ but I can not switch between layouts.

I’m using Whonix-LXQt-18.0.8.7.Intel_AMD64 under VirtualBox, Windows.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

You’re probably looking for this:

There isn’t a GUI for this yet, and unfortunately LXQt’s native keyboard layout controls are X11-only, but you can set multiple keyboard layouts using the above instructions.

(Note: Whonix is based on Kicksecure.)

Thanks a lot, arraybolt3! I have used the option “grp:alt_shift_toggle“ and after rebooting I am able to switch layouts! No indicator though. Hope devs will fix it in future. With best regards!
