if i open workstation live and create some file and then just click ‘delete’ will it be possible to restore it somehow after restarting my machine? how do i delete them without restoring them? For exemple i have file password.txt and how to dele it. so it can’t be restored? Is just deleting and shutting down the system enough if it is enabled in the live option
Are all your questions in context of Live Mode?
In normal mode.
Assuming you’re using the PCManFM-Qt file manager, which is the default file manager in Whonix 18:
Click on the file you want to delete, hold down the Shift key, and then press Delete. This will prompt you to delete the file permanently.
You can also simply select the file and press the “Delete” key. This will move the file to the “Trash” area. Then, in the left sidebar, under “Places”, right click on “Trash” and click “Empty Trash”. This will permanently delete everything in “Trash”.
This is similar or identical to how file deletion works under most other operating systems, including Windows.
I heard about the “shred” function, how to add function “shred” to a shortcut?
