Gateway reinstall

so the following happens -

Fresh install on 11. First update Gateway crashes during update and becomes unusable. I removed it from the VM and replaced it.
Ran both Gateway and workstation.

Am I good or should I have done differently?

Good day,

to reinstall Whonix, you’d simply have to reimport the Workstation and Gateway. This of course differs from configuration (KVM vs Qubes vs VBox) to configuration.

What I did was reimport only the gateway. Updated successfully and ran both whonixchecks without a glich.
All seems in order but I’d like to know if what I did is dangerous in any way and why.

Good day,

as long as you’ve kept to the standard procedure for doing so and changed the standard passwords (which is a part of said standard procedure) you should be fine, though of course, regarding safety, extensive measures can always be taken.
