I have tried twice to register a new account and when clicking activation link it goes to blank page that just says “invalid crfs” (may not be exact spelling). This is through whonix, clearnet forums, TB on safer security. Luckily i found an older account i made.

Tested just now. I cannot reproduce the issue. Works for me over clearnet and onion.
