Folder .VirtualBox on Windows

#1

Hello @,

Just a quick question about VM VirtualBox running on Windows.

Can somebody tell me how important is the following folder located :

C:\Users\XXX\.VirtualBox

It seems that logs are kept in this folder so are some other files. I am curious if this folder can be removed without affecting the system.

Thank you in advance for explaining me the importance (or not) of this folder.

Good day,

This folder contains certain settings used by VBox. For example, it stores whether or not you have decided to not be informed of the mouse capture feature when enabling it, upon other things. This folder thus may be remove if you so desire, though note that this will delete certain settings and, that VBox shall create the folder again, once you decide to use if afterwards.

Have a nice day,

Ego

Good day Ego,

Thank you very much for your detailed answer. This helps me to understand the utility of the folder. Deleting it wouldn’t have sense if VBox creates it again…

Again, thank you for your time.
