What method shall I use to install external software applications in Whonix workstation? I would like to choose the AppImage Launcher which is available on GitHub but confused with the versions such as bionic amd64 deb denial amd64.deb etc.

Use either Oracular Oriole or Noble Numbat packages, which are the respective Ubuntu stable and LTS release codenames.

Using codenames similar to Debian codename versions makes sense. Higher chance that this would work.

The GitHub repository, if it exists, was not provided as a link in the original post, and only Ubuntu codenames were mentioned, so I can only provide limited suggestions based on current available information. Also, some repositories only package for Ubuntu codenames, not Debian, or vice versa.
