Hi, please help fix the problem. I installed the messenger element but after launching I get an error. It is important to me that the encryption is not broken
Maybe something here:
Before switching to LXQT, everything worked fine. I found a solution: you need to run element-desktop --password-store=”gnome-libsecret”. How can I now check that the encryption is not broken? I have little experience with Linux, I need your help.
The –password-store=gnome-libsecret option only changes where Element/Chromium stores local secrets on the desktop. It should not turn off Matrix end-to-end encryption by itself. To check the important part, open the room, look for the encryption/shield status, and compare/verify the session from another logged-in Element device if you have one. If old encrypted history does not decrypt, that is usually a key backup / session verification issue rather than this launch option.
