When running systemcheck on whonix-workstation-18 Template, I get this warning:

WARNING: Debian Package Update Check Result: Could not check for software updates! (apt-get code: 100)
Please manually check inside this TemplateVM ('whonix-workstation-18').
1. Open a terminal. (dom0 -> Start Menu -> Template: whonix-workstation-18 -> Terminal)
2. Update.
upgrade-nonroot

Then, when I open a terminal as sysmaint user I run upgrade-nonrootI get this:

zsh: exit 100   upgrade-nonroot

I’ve tried this on multiple whonix-workstation-18 clones as well, and they all report the same errors.

Whats going on here? Why cant I update, and how can I fix this?

I am using freshly downloaded and integrity verified KVM LXQt 18.1.4.2 qcow2 images, but when running ‘apt update’, ‘upgrade-nonroot’ I get:

E: Release file for tor+https://fasttrack.debian.net/debian-fasttrack/dists/trixie-fasttrack/InRelease is expired (invalid since 18h 32min 38s). Updates for this repository will not be applied.

Known issue, the Debian fasttrack repo is broken. Whonix enables the repo by default, but this issue is not specific to Whonix, this affects anyone who uses the fasttrack repo. See above:

DIsable the repo, Any user on Qubes or KVM doesnt need it. Only vbox users and its not critical repo (Known issue: The repo maintainers sucks).

Nevertheless, follow the updates here:

Still not fixed

This exact Issue happened many Times over the last years. I was almost always a victim of this Issue. I dont like dealing with it as Security Guidelines tell me to not do these things direct in the template IIRC

Can we somehow get rid of them? I Guess i should suggest this in Whonix 4 qubes forum?

As documented:

No need. And this was originally posted in Qubes-Whonix forum anyhow.
