Differences between Kicksecure and Whonix in Qubes OS

I use Kicksecure in all my Debian templates, but I notice small differences between Kicksecure and Whonix, I lack the skills to identify them exactly.
Are there any security differences between Whonix and Kicksecure installed on a minimal template?

Maybe a good solution would be to use multiple copies of Whonix and remove unwanted applications in specific templates using for example this guide http://forums.dds6qkxpwdeubwucdiaord2xgbbeyds25rbsgr73tbfpqpt4a6vjwsyd.onion/t/whonix-minimal-template/12152 and dummy-dependency?

Thanks

Kicksecure is security-focused operating system.

Whonix is an anonymous operating system and based on, hardened by Kicksecure.

In result, Whonix and Kicksecure have the same security features.

Any existing or upcoming security related features are always implemented in Kicksecure and then Whonix will benefit from these too.

That seems messy. I wouldn’t want to develop an implementation where users have to resort to such hacks.

Whonix for anonymity.
Kicksecure for security-only.
