Correct way to change default zoom % in Tor browser

I’ve moved to a 4k monitor and wow, Tor browser is tiny. I tried doubling the dpi in settings/appearance but, unlike other qubes, it doesn’t help in whonix Tor browser. Zoom % does seem to help but where/how should I make this change ?

I seems I need to change mode in whonix workstation template to user from sysmaint and then start Tor browser there and change the zoom setting there ?

Most likely unrelated to sysmaint as such settings typically do not require sudo/root.

Did Tor Browser zoom settings change work inside a Qubes Debian based App Qube?

Which exact steps did you apply to change Tor Browser zoom settings in a non-Whonix Qube?

Sorry, I forgot to mention I only use Tor browser in a whonix workstation disposable. So I first tried to change the default zoom Tor browser setting in the template of the disposable but that is not allowed. Then I tried it in the whonix workstation template but got the sysmaint vs user message.

If I use Firefox I use fedora disposable and Firefox follows the dpi setting but Tor browser seems to ignore the dpi setting so I need to use zoom but I don’t want to have to change the setting each time I launch a whonix ws disposable but to change this it seems I need to change default zoom in whonix ws template

Could you please try:

  • a Qubes Debian based App Qube;
  • non-Qubes Debian

with Tor Browser?
