Compression utility does not work in the right-click context menu

Since Whonix 18, the compression/extraction option in the right-click context menu no longer works, even though the menu entry is still visible.

Clicking the option has no effect. Users must manually open LXQt File Archiver to compress or uncompress files.

It should be fixed. Meanwhile is there a workaround to enable this context menu option?

Looks like the archiver is mistakenly being set to xarchiver by default. I’ll add this to our task list.

In PCManFM-Qt, click Edit → Preferences → Advanced, then set “Archiver integration” to “lxqt-archiver”.
