Cant update to Whonix 18, broken apt sources

Hi everyone

So i tried to update my whonix install to whonix 18 and followed the documentation on how to do it. But when reaching step 8: sudo release-upgrade
I get the error

  • true ‘ERROR: File /etc/apt/sources.list.d/derivative.list does not exist!

I tried to find anything about this but didnt find anything. Chatgpt (I know i know, but i wanted to get help somewhere…) recommended to just create the file and fill it with the source URL which i should find on the official Whonix website. I cannot by the life of me find what i have to put in there. Everywhere the documentation just speaks of the 4 different repositories and talks about how to switch between them. But i cant switch since i dont have any repository (or so i am interpreting this?)

And since I am at the end of my (very small) amount of linux knowledge, i am now here and hope for the kindness of the forum community for some help.
Please tell me what more information would be needed, since i am way over my head, i cannot even guess what information would be needed…

sudo repository-dist --enable --repository stable
