I followed the manual and
1: set a new MAC for the new Workstation in VB
2. changed the last octet in /etc/network/interfaces
In whonixcheck I still get ERROR: Tor Boosttrap Result: Tor’s Control Port could not be reached. … (Code: 255)
Restarted network or rebooted?
You need to change the second workstation’s IP too.
You need to change the second workstation’s IP too.
I changed only the second workstation’s internal IP.
It’s really a “second Whonix-Workstation”, i.e. a cloned or imported one?
Or is it a Whonix-Custom-Workstation? (Anonymize Other Operating Systems)
For the latter the instructions are different. (Anonymize Other Operating Systems)
Did you make sure, that they are using the same internal network Whonix?
Hi Patrick,
It’s imported one (wouldn’t want to clone a “used” one).
It’s a Whonix Workstation. I already used successfully a non Whonix OS with the gateway once in the past.
They are using the same internal network - Whonix.
Solved. Problem was I left a # comment at the end of a line in /etc/network/interfaces which due to a bug returns an error.
