Hi, I tried following the guide to disable auto-login, which mentions to use sudoedit /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf
However I received the following error “sudoedit: /etc/gdm3/daemon.conf: editing symbolic links is not permitted”
I used sudo nano instead and managed to make the change.
Is anyone able to confirm whether that is okay to do so or have I introduced any security related issues by using sudo nano, I did mention I was a beginner
Many thanks
Probably not. This is very complex. Nothing automatically going to explode if not using sudoedit. Just best practice. A lot other knowledge would be required for a threat model where that would be an issue.
