Tried many xmpp servers. I get ‘ssl handshake failed’ error. The same concerns oftc irc. It does not work. Own xmpp server also does not run via HS. It seems software nowadays is built with antitor code.

Browsers, mail work normally. xmpp works neither via pidgin nor via psi. It seems that tor just does not support xmpp or tsl\ssl.

XMPP over Pidgin for example, as well as pretty much any other message protocol, does normally work for me, furthermore details on this are actually explained here: Instant Messenger Chat Mind reimporting the Gateway and Workstation, to see, were the problem may lie?

There is almost certainly no anti Tor code when you install packages from Debian.
I would speculate it’s server issues or servers blocking Tor users, which is another story.
