wickr help please

system: Whonix 15 KVM

followed directions in Wiki/Docs

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install snapd

reboot

sudo snap install wickrme

Now, I get 2 errors

When trying to run in the terminal “wickrme” I get the following:

Command ‘wickrme’ is available in ‘/snap/bin/wickrme’
The command could not be located because ‘/snap/bin’ is not included in the PATH environment variable.

It appears this is appendix #4 in the wiki and is what rebooting is supposed to fix.

So then I try, /snap/bin/wickrme …with and without sudo is gives the same error:

realpath: ‘’: No such file or directory
realpath: ‘’: No such file or directory
realpath: ‘’: No such file or directory
realpath: ‘’: No such file or directory
realpath: ‘’: No such file or directory
realpath: ‘’: No such file or directory
realpath: ‘’: No such file or directory
realpath: ‘’: No such file or directory

According the the docs/wiki, there is a fix for this error and it is to uninstall and run in dev mode.

So I do the following:

sudo snap remove wickrme
sudo snap remove wickrme

Reinstall using --devmode: sudo snap install --devmode wickrme

I get all the same errors

Please help

If you made another reply here, then it wasn’t correctly received.

You could try to solve this as per https://www.whonix.org/wiki/Free_Support_Principle. Try on plain, non-Whonix, Debian buster. The issue is probably the same.
