Whonix WS update failed

I keep running into the same error when trying to update the Whonix Work Station qube. In the updater window it says dpkg was interupted, you must manually run ‘dpkg --configure -a’ to correct the problem.

I tried running that in the terminal but nothing happens. Can someone give me a hand? Thanks!

Unfortunately Debian’s APT (and most other tools) don’t mention when it’s required and appropriate to use sudo/root. The command is:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

This issue can happen on any Debian based operating system. Including Whonix. Its resolution is therefore unspecific to Whonix. See also:
